Wight Shipyard UK has received an order to build a new high-speed catamaran for the operation of Twin City on the Danube between Vienna and Bratislava. The new vessel is expected to ship in 2019 Summer delivery.
Incat Crowther was selected as the design company for the ship. The new boat is designed for shallow draft with a maximum speed of 38 knots and a reliable service speed of 32 knots.glenflange
The ship's power will be provided by four Scania DI16 mainframes, with a single power of 809 kilowatts, driving the Rolls-Royce S40-3 waterjet.
Peter Morton, chief executive of Wight Shipyard, said: "This shipbuilding order is our first export order."
