After successfully completing all required test procedures, Wärtsilä has submitted its Aquarius Electro-Chlorination ballast water management system (BWMS) to the US Coast Guard (USCG) for type certification.
The Wärtsilä electrolytic chlorination system passed the type approval of the International Maritime Organization in 2013. This successful design is also used to submit the USCG form certification. The Wärtsilä Aquarius UV system has passed the type certification of the International Maritime Organization and is certified by the US Coast Guard (USCG). The system is now undergoing a full USCG formal certification test and is expected to be completed by 2018.
