Tufton Oceanic Assets, a fund management company, announced that it has acquired 2 Panamax container ships for US$22.8 million.
The company said that the two container ships will be leased for at least 2-3 years respectively. One of the container ships will receive a lease of an investment-grade container trucking company. The other container ship will begin to perform the new lease after completing the existing lease.
Tufton Oceanic said that the two container vessels were the third and fourth vessels to invest in the company’s initial investment targets. The company intends to invest in a diversified portfolio of second-hand ocean-going vessels that will provide investors with strong cash flow and capital gains.
