Maersk oil sale was approved by the Danish Energy Agency


The Danish Energy Agency recently approved the Maersk Group's sale of Maersk Oil to the French energy giant Total and expects the deal to close in the first quarter of 2018.glenflange

 

August 21 last year, Maersk Group and Total signed an agreement, Total will merger shares and debt transactions acquisition of Maersk Oil, receive Maersk Oil organization, portfolio, debt and rights, the transaction amount of about 7.45 billion Dollars.

 

The sale of Maersk Oil is part of the Maersk Group's spin-off of oil and oil-related businesses and the creation of a comprehensive company plan focusing on shipping and logistics businesses. In addition to Maersk Oil, last year, Maersk Group also sold all of Maersk Cruises to AP Mill Holdings, together with its partner Mitsui & Co., in Japan for about $ 1.17 billion in cash.glenflange

 

Currently, Maersk Group is also looking for suitable solutions for Maersk Drilling and Maersk Supply Services and is expected to finalize it by the end of 2018. Maersk Group will take three to five years to transform itself into a comprehensive international container logistics company.
