Greek Shipping Tycoon Evangelos Marinakis Confirmed New Coronavirus Infection

A novel coronavirus was diagnosed by Evangelos Marinakis, a Greek shipping magnate.


On March 10, Evangelos marinakis posted on social media instagram: "the well-known virus" visited "me, and I feel obligated to make it public."


"I feel good because I take all necessary measures and follow the doctor's instructions. I strongly recommend that my compatriots do the same. We hope all patients will recover quickly.

Evangelos marinakis is the owner of Greek Olympiacos football club and British Nottingham Forest Football Club. Novel coronavirus Evangelos Marinakis is confirmed in a statement by Nottingham Forest Football Club.


"Mr. marinakis showed initial symptoms when he returned to Greece yesterday afternoon and was later diagnosed with the infection," the Nottingham Forest Football Club statement said

In 2018, capital maritime group entered the LNG ship field, ordering 10 LNG ships with a total value of US $1.8 billion.


From March 2010 to September 2011, Evangelos marinakis also served as the chairman and CEO of cloud carriers Corp, a listed company on the New York Stock Exchange. From March 2007 to December 2014, he served as the chairman of NASDAQ listed capital product partners LP. Capital product partners has 74 ships, including tankers, freighters, bulk carriers, container ships and LNG carriers.


In November 2018, capital product partners LP announced the merger of its tanker fleet with diamond s shipping holdings, the US owner, to create one of the world's largest listed tanker companies with a total transaction value of US $1.65 billion.


Earlier, it was reported that Evangelos marinakis planned to build a batch of at least six 12500teu container ships in China and South Korea. The new ships will use conventional power, but can be upgraded to dual fuel ships in the future. It is reported that novel coronavirus outbreak has been postponed by Capital Maritime group, which has already contacted Yangtze River shipping industry, Samsung Heavy Industries, and modern heavy industries.
