Denmark's DESMI Ocean Guard said the company has contracted with Turkish shipowner MISHA Shipping for a BWMS contract to supply the CompactClean ballast water treatment system for all of the company's fleets.
The company said the contract includes providing the owner with 10 CompactClean ballast water treatment systems with a handling capacity of 340 to 750 cubic meters per hour. The first will deliver the m / v Mohican currently under construction by the end of 2018.
MISHA Shipping's vessels are mainly shallow draft dry bulk carriers operating in the Russian inland, Black Sea and Mediterranean ports, as well as a new generation of optimized Hai Hoa sailing in the unrestricted navigable areas of the Volga and Don Canal.
It is reported that at present CompactClean ballast water treatment system is under the supervision of the British Lloyd's Register of Shipping under the IMO and US Coast Guard requirements for type certification. It is estimated that the type certification will be obtained in about June and July 2018.
