Damon Shipyard wins South African Navy IPV orders
DSM has received orders for three 62x11m Offshore Patrol Vessels (IPVs) from its procurement agent in South Africa's Defense Ministry. This order belongs to the Navy's Biro project in South Africa. The project aims to develop maritime safety in South Africa and ensure that the country can respond effectively and promptly to maritime threats such as illicit trafficking and fishing. glenflange
These IPVs will be the first Damen Sea Ax ships designed for South Africa. The Sea Ax is DAMANN's innovative, patented hull design with excellent wave resistance. Hatchet cut from the water to minimize impact to improve driving safety and comfort, and significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
